Biography: Cedric Samson
Cedric Samson is an experienced and accomplished composer, arranger, and producer. His career has spanned over three decades and focused on record production, television themes, commercials, and film scores. Cedric recently moved from South Africa with his wife and children and set-up home in Los Angeles. Being dynamic by nature, he works incisively at a prolific pace with passion and sensitivity.
Documentaries and Films
Composed, arranged, and produced the score for Jonathan Demme and Chris Blackwell's documentary "Mandella, Father Of A Nation," nominated for an Academy Award in 1997.
Composed and produced the score for Joseph Sargant and Bernard Sofransky's Showtime film "Mandella and DeKlerk," nominated for an Emmy in 1997.
Songwriter
Composed, arranged, and produced the title track for "Mandella, Father Of A Nation," nominated for a Grammy, "Best Song For A Documentary Or Motion Picture" in 1998.
Record Producer
Arranged, produced, and co-wrote with Denise Rich two of the featured songs on the up and coming United Nation's AIDS project for children of Africa. Executive Producer: Phil Ramone. Release date: 2002.
Composed, arranged, and produced Miriam Makeba's latest album, nominated for a Grammy, "Best World Music Album" in 2001.
Arranged and co-produced the #1 Billboard topper "Gangstas Make The World Go 'Round," featuring Ice Cube, Mack 10, WC, off the album "Westside Connection," in 1997.
Wrote and co-wrote, arranged and produced the official Olympic album featuring South Africa's top artist for the Olympic Games 1996.
Has also produced Hugh Masakala, Johnny Klegg, Jennifer Rush. Co-produced the musical spectacular opening for "The Lost City" with Jean Michele Jarre, 1992.
Currently arranging and producing new LA artists for 2002 releases, and composing for an animated series, 2002.

Wrote, arranged, and produced the Coca-Cola music in eleven languages from South Africa to Saudi Arabia.

Co-wrote the new musical "The Boulevard Of Dreams" with Michael Berlin and Pamela Serure. Release date: 2003.
